Google Classroom Y1-Y6
Google Classroom is an exciting, new learning platform with curriculum resources we have been developing for your child to access during any school closure. Your child will have access to Google Classroom using a school email address and a password which has been sent to you via Dojo as a personal message. Google Classroom has been designed to support pupils having access to increased online learning and crucially develop stronger communication directly with teachers. It allows pupils and staff to collaborate on one learning platform. Your child will be able to access work that has been assigned by their teacher, complete the work online and share this with their teacher. Your child’s class teacher will then be able to give feedback and support your child accordingly in their learning. However, please continue to use dojo to message the class teacher as direct messages through Google Classrooms will not be responded to.
We would suggest that after accessing your child's classroom, you and your child familiarise yourself with the platform together. This is where teachers will set work and send a daily message within the class stream. There will be a range of 'assignments' posted and some of the tasks can be uploaded/completed online for the teacher to view.
Tasks (assignments) for the children to complete will be posted on a daily basis. If you miss any, do not worry as they remain in the classroom.
Please regularly discuss online safety with your children.

It’s asking me for a class code.
The Classroom code exists to let students join a Classroom, something that you can't do as a parent. However all children have been invited to the correct classes so they should automatically appear. If this is not the case, please check in the right hand corner (there will be an initial in a circle) and ensure that it is your child’s King’s Oak email address. If not they will not be able to join the class or see the work. If you want to view the Classroom itself, we recommend having your student login and then you can sit next to them to explore the Classroom content.
The videos aren’t working!
In order to watch the videos via the Google Classroom app, you will need to make sure you also have the Google Drive app installed.
I can’t see the video link for the live lesson.
Teachers will turn the video link to the live lesson on shortly before the lesson is due to start. It should appear at the top of your class but you may need to refresh your screen.

You should contact your child's teacher via Class Dojo if you have a question regarding an assignment on Google Classroom.
