Governors Structure

How is the Governing Board made up?

There are a number of Governor Types - parent governors who are elected by the parents, Local Authority governors who are appointed by Bedford Borough Council, Co-opted governors are elected by the Governing Board and Staff governors who are elected by the staff.  There are also Associate Members attending some governing board meetings, these members do not have voting rights on any decision making.

King's Oak Primary School Governing Body operates a Circle Model of Governance. This means that no decisions are delegated down to committees and all the power stays within full board meetings. There is no sub-committee meeting structure which would typically include Finance and Curriculum sub-committee meetings. King's Oak Primary School Full Governing Board meet 6 times per year.
