PE & Sports Funding
We are highly committed to ensuring quality PE and Sports provision for all children at King's Oak Primary School.
We believe that an innovative and varied PE curriculum along with extra-curricular opportunities have a positive influence on the concentration, attitude and academic achievement of all our children.
King's Oak Primary believes passionately in the important contribution this aspect of school life makes to the health and well-being of the children and we hope to establish the importance of a healthy lifestyle with the right choices from a young age.
The Government provides funding every year for school sport and PE. This funding is being jointly provided by the Departments for Education, Health and Culture, Media and Sport, and will see money going directly to Primary School Headteachers to spend on improving the quality of sport and PE for all their children.
The sports funding can only be spent on sport and PE provision in schools.
Mr Barker (P.E Coordinator) has the task of raising the profile of P.E and School sport throughout the school day via curricular and extra curricular activities whilst liaising with the Governors and the Headteacher.
