Forest School at Kings Oak Primary School
What is Forest School?
Forest School helps to promote the holistic development of all pupils, fostering resilient, confident, independent, creative and keen learners as well as an outlet to support children’s mental and emotional wellbeing.
To ensure your child has the full Forest School experience, can I ask that they have a Forest School kit in school ready for their sessions. Sessions for year 6 will be on a Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoon.
This will need to be named and in a bag, much like their PE kits. This can stay in school during this half term. (It will be sent home if we get particularly muddy!) There is no need to buy anything special for this, you probably have it all already. All that is required is:
- Long sleeve top / Jumper/ T-shirt for layers (weather dependent)
- Sensible footwear- this can be welly boots, old trainers, walking shoes, depending on the weather
- Coat again this will be weather dependent (rain coat, winter coat)
- Sun hat/ Woolly hat/ Gloves (not mittens)
We ask that your child brings this kit in so they can enjoy the Forest School area without getting a muddy uniform, however, a child will not be excluded from Forest School due to not having the kit.
Please keep in mind that children without kits may come home with muddy uniforms. We will be going out in all weathers, and have some amazing activities planned.
